The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWAR) has announced the policy version of the updated Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), set to take full effect from 1 July 2025.

The revised Standards outline for requirements for providers and will comprise of the:

• Outcome Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) - which will outline the key elements of the quality training and assessments that organisations must demonstrate to be registered (and maintain registration) as a training provider
• Credential Policy - which will operate alongside the Outcome Standards and outline the minimum requirements for delivering training and assessment and undertaking assessment validation
• Compliance Requirements - which are the administrative and compliance obligations that RTOs must meet at all times to protect VET students and support integrity within the vocational education and training sector.

DRAFT Regulatory Guidelines Preparing for the revised Standards are now available, with more guidance materials to follow.
