On 9 December 2022, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) updated its latest news regarding the extended transition period of qualification “SHB”. It is a training package for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. ASQA approved the transition period to be longer than what was previously stated in Clause 1.26 –(A), (B), and (C) of RTO standards 2015.
To be more specific, the RTO must be informed that this extended transition period will be applied only for “continuing students only”, a cohort of students is also required to enrol in the following qualifications which are:
SHB20116 | Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics |
SHB30115 | Certificate III in Beauty Services |
SHB30215 | Certificate III in Make Up |
SHB30315 | Certificate III in Nail Technology |
SHB40115 | Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy |
SHB50115 | Diploma of Beauty Therapy |
The transition period will be extended until 31st January 2024, this also includes the training, assessment, and certificate issuance period of SHB qualifications listed above.
Until the end of the extended transition period, the SHB qualifications listed above will be remaining on ASQA’s registered RTO’s scope of registration. Unless RTO decides to withdraw the qualifications from its scope.
